My First UNGO RUN (August 6, 2010)

Thank God it's Friday. Last day of work. I am feeling so energetic, as usual. After logging out from Film School, I immediately went home and prepared my ARMOR.

This Friday is not my usual Fridays wherein I'll go home early and watch a movie until the wee hours thinking that it's Saturday tomorrow. This Friday is a "special Friday" because for the first time, I will be joining a group  whose passion for health is so contagious that it is so inspiring. A group reinforced by the passion called RUNNING.

My greatest gratitude goes to whoever shot this... :D

I went to Sunstar Office fronting University of San Carlos (Main). When I arrived, I was greeted by Sir Max Limpag, founder of UNGO Runners. I was greeted by some UNGO runners inside Sunstar's Library who were weighed by Ms. Rowena Duarte for UNGO's Biggest Loser Contest. I was even weighed and of course, I already know that I am an overweight. Anyways, I even met an old friend, one of our first batch students in Film School, Mr. Publio "Pubs" Briones III (by the way Pubs, your thesis is still my FAVORITE short film here in IAFT up to now).

I was talking to this person who is so friendly. He told me that my name sounds like a foreigner's. I told him that I just "scrambled" my name to sound like a "Russian". Later, I found out that this person is our guest speaker, Bro. Carlo Bacalla who run the Bataan Death March and finished 17th. WOW!!!

During Bro. Carlo's inspiring speech, I learned a lot especially on tips on how to prepare an ultra-marathon. And, what inspired me is the saying, "Any idiot can run a marathon but it takes a special kind of idiot to complete an ultra-marathon." INSPIRING!!! Then, off we go.

Thank you Willie Estepa for this picture.

To the BATTLE FIELD! I mean to the RUNNING FIELD!!!
